IT WAS Arnside's week in the Kendal and District League. Both of their teams recorded a first win of the season. Victoria A and Staveley B continued their unbeaten run but Abbot Hall B and Ingleborough B lost for the first time.
In Division One, Victoria A were 9-1 winners at K.A. Hale B to retain the lead by two points from Netherfield A, who had the same score away at Burneside A.
K.A. Hale A stayed in third by winning 8-2 at Levens A, while Netherfield B overtook Holme A to go fourth with a good 7-3 victory over Abbot Hall A. Holme A went down 7-3 at Windermere A.
By winning 7-3 away at Bowness A, Arnside A lifted themselves off bottom spot at the expense of K. A. Hale B, the only team in the league not to win so far.
The top of Division Two changes dramatically each week as there are so few points between the top teams. Leaders Netherfield C lost 9-1 to Victoria B and dropped to fifth, to be replaced by home specialists Kirkby Lonsdale, who had the same score against Crosthwaite A.
Victoria B are second by only a point with Lower Holker A jumping to third from eighth with yet another 9-1 win, this time over Levens B.
Staveley A continued their strong showing after promotion, winning well 7-3 at home to Ingleborough A.
Bottom team Subscription A were unlucky not to win against Ambleside. Leading 5-3 in games, they lost the aggregate by just three points and had to to settle for a draw.
Abbot Hall B in Division Three lost their first match and the lead in the division with a close 6-4 defeat at Milnthorpe A.
Burton took over as leaders by two points with their 8-2 win over Lower Holker B.
Windermere B dropped to third, losing 6-4 at Endmoor A.
In the battle at the bottom, Subscription B defeated Burneside B 7-3, to leave Burneside six points adrift. Netherfield D needed the aggregate to overcome Holme C 6-4.
Highlight of the Division Four results was the remarkable first win by Arnside B, 8-2 at Bowness B.
Despite Levens C winning 7-3 against top team Ingle- borough B, the latter's first defeat, they now share a three-way tie at the foot of the division with Arnside B and Bowness B.
Heversham A go back to the top by two points after a close 6-4 win at Crosthwaite B.
Victoria C move up to third with a 6-4 win at home to Sedbergh and there was a tight match for Burneside C, winners over Lower Holker C.
Division 5 leaders Staveley B continued their unbeaten run with a 6-4 win over third-placed Milnthorpe B. Holme D, with a game in hand, took second place with a 10-0 defeat over Subscription C.

ll In the Rothay League Division Two match between Lower Holker B and Bowness B, there were no less than four 21-20 scorelines.
There were wins for Harry Ramsden, Nick Glenwright and Peter Spinks for the visitors, with Margaret Burns winning for Lower Holker. Nevill Chanin (21-13) and June Foster (21-11) had easier wins for the home team.
In the top of the table clash, Lower Holker A had what could be a decisive away win over promotion rivals Burneside B.
