UPPER KENT NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM Meeting to take place on Tuesday 29 July 2008 7.30pm at New Hutton Institute.

This Neighbourhood Forum is organised by Cumbria County Council in order to encourage communication between residents, service providers and Councillors. The Forums can give details about issues of interest to local people and give a chance to raise concerns and ideas for the area. The Forum holds five public meetings a year and you are very welcome. Please share this invitation with others who might be interested in attending.

AGENDA 1. WELCOME (and any declarations of interest from County Councillors).

2. LOCAL VIEW A local resident will give a brief ‘local view’ about life in New Hutton.

3. DIGITAL SWITCHOVER IN THE UPPER KENT AREA “Do I need a new television and what will the reception be like?” These questions and others will be answered at the Forum by Sarah-Jane Gray from Digital UK. She will cover how to prepare for the switchover and the timetable for action.

4. ROAD SAFETY IN THE UPPER KENT AREA Fiona Hanson is responsible for certain aspects of road safety in South Lakeland. She will explain about her role and discuss work in the Upper Kent area.

5. COMMUNITY NOTICEBOARD AND SOAPBOX SLOT.

Please mention any ideas for improving the area, concerns, event details, local news etc.

6. GRANT APPLICATIONS FROM LOCAL GROUPS AND PROJECT COMPLETION REPORTS Representatives from local groups applying to the Forum for a grant will take a few minutes to explain about their application.
