Forum to discuss sport,, transport and health

Sport, transport and health are all on the agenda of the next Kent Estuary Neighbourhood Forum to be held at Levens Institute on Tuesday, December 4, at 7.30pm.

Duncan Pearce, Head of PE at Dallam School, will give a presentation on plans to develop an all weather football pitch, indoor sports centre and changing facilities on the Dallam school site in Milnthorpe.

Caroline Watson from Cumbria County Council's public transport team will explain the Rural Wheels scheme which helps provide transport for people in South Lakeland who don't have a bus service or are unable to use their local services.

Matt Brown from Cumbria Primary Care Trust will give an update on what's happening at Westmorland General Hospital. Peter Dyer, Medical Director of the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust, will talk about the trust's application for foundation trust status and how people can get involved in this process.

David Knipe will give a brief report about life in the Levens area and there will be feedback from previous meetings and updates on local projects, Finally, there will be the opportunity to announce forthcoming events and listen to representatives from local groups explain their applications to the forum for a grant.

Kent Estuary Neighbourhood Forum is a public meeting and all are welcome.
