LEVENS Post Office is one of more than 40 on a "high risk" list of post offices being considered for closure in Westmorland and Lonsdale.
The branch has been given a "category three" designation by Post Office Ltd, which means it will be assessed in January as a potential candidate for closure.
Once the assessment is completed, in March, those post offices definitely earmarked for closure will be named.
The Post Office has declared it wants to close around one-in-four category three branches - a total of 2,500 nationally.
