SCHOOLCHILDREN in Kendal will be able to discuss a variety of issues from bullying to sexual health with a range of professionals in the comfort of their classrooms, next month.
The special day-long sessions, which take place at Queen Katherine School on October 14 and Kirkbie Kendal School on October 16, will see experts from agencies such as the police, local councillors and health professionals dispensing information and advice to pupils.
A spokesman for event said: “We have decided to speak to local secondary school children in an effort to gauge their opinions on where they go to school, where they live, what they do in their spare time, what they would like to do, what, if any, problems they may be experiencing in general day to day life.
“There will be an opportunity for the children to speak to someone if they have any problems or if they just want some information.”
MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale Tim Farron will be at KKS on October 16 from 10am to noon.
FASCINATED shoppers in Ambleside witnessed nature at its most ruthless last week as a sparrowhawk stripped a pigeon of its feathers and flesh in the middle of a busy high street.
