A 21-YEAR-old man from the Kendal area has died following a car crash in County Durham.
According to Durham Police, Ryan Miles Grindey, of Crosthwaite near Kendal, was a passenger in a Vauxhall Astra which was being driven on the A66 near Bowes on Saturday when it was involved in an accident causing it to leave the road, flip onto its roof and hit a dry stone wall.
Mr Grindey was rushed to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious head injuries, however, he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead on Tuesday.
The car was being driven by Mr Grindey's partner, a 38-year-old woman, who is eight months pregnant, however, she only suffered minor injuries and has been discharged from Darlington Memorial Hospital after receiving treatment.
Her unborn baby is believed to be unharmed.
Her three daughters who were in the rear of the car - aged 12 years, seven years and 21 months - also escaped with cuts and bruises and have been released from hospital.
