Streetsafe operation targets Milnthorpe

POLICE are to carry out a Streetsafe operation in Milnthorpe later this month to address the issue of anti social behaviour in the town.

Officers and representatives from other agencies will be visiting the Ryleyfield and Kirkhead areas on Wednesday May 14 visiting around 132 homes.

The Streetsafe operation will be preceded by a "walkabout" conducted by South Lakes Housing and sixth form students from Dallam School will act as observers.

PC Tony Lees of Kendal Police said: "The aim of the operation is to identify those responsible for anti social behaviour in addition to completing the usual community questionnaire.".

Its about time the police and the council started to recognise the behaviour problems in milnthorpe. It isnt just the teenagers it is also children as young as 4 being allowed to raom freely as they please. Is it any wonder there is a problem??? I sincerely hope they will also be dealing with the parents of these problem children/teenagers. And that they also incude the upper end of milnthorpe i.e. Owlet Ash Fields!!!!!
