Dalton fatal crash victim named

POLICE have named the man who died following a two-car road collision in Dalton on Sunday night.

Mark Robinson, 20, of Broughton Mills died when his Peugeot 106 was involved in a collision with a Skoda Octavia taxi on Ruskinville Bridge, near Mill Brow, Abbey Road, Dalton-in-Furness, just after 11.30pm.

Mr Robinson, an apprentice joiner, died at the scene while the 60-year-old driver of the taxi and three passengers were taken to Furness General Hospital where the driver was treated for spinal injuries.

Mr Robinson's sisters, Claire and Hayley said: "Our Mark was a kind hearted boy. He was an inspiration to those who knew him. He worked hard at Furness College where he was studying as an apprentice joiner and he had a passion for helping everybody around him.

"He loved looking after his animals and his pets. He was a busy boy but always found the time to help somebody if they needed it, he was often to be found helping his friends with joinery in their houses after work. He has left a family who will miss him so much."
