Hello,Wednesday night, Kendal were impressive beating a very solid Morecambe side 3-1. I think what impressed me the most was how the team went at the opposition, I did however have a bit of sympathy for Morecambe, as they had their goalkeeper sent off after a few minutes of the match which disrupted them slightly.

That said Kendal looked like world beaters the other night, some of their football was of a very high standard and I don't think I can remember Kendal playing like that for a long time.

Expectations are definatley high at The Lakeland Radio Stadiun right now, their is a team of players whom have the abilities to better themselves in their careers and for the present future they have an opportunity to do some real big things in The Unibond League this season as well.

The approach to the game Kendal have in wanting to play the ball is different to what you would get in The Unibond.Generally, teams normally play a more direct style which is effective for them, yet it can be ugly too watch at the same time.

With Kendal their total football approach is going to be a different dynamic to The Unibond Legaue this season. I think maybe only Leigh Genesis try to play like we try to play. The only question mark I have about Kendal Town is can they adapt their style of play? some teams will try and force us into long ball football!, and theirs no doubt that as was proven last season If if teams try that Kendal tend to find it harder.

The coming weeks and months will be an interesting time for Kendal, they will be put to the test come the opening day.

In the meantime Kendal have 2 more pre seasons remaining, away at Lancaster City on Saturday (A match which will feel like a Kendal Town reunion, with Lancaster having alot of Kendal Town connections within their line up and on the ebench.

Then next week the big 1 at home to Sunderland, for which I will report on in detail a few dys before the match.

Other news: The Kendal Town laides team begin training next Thursday (14th August 2008) from The Lakeland Radio Stadium, from 6.30pm Their 1st league match is September 14th Richard
