The second annual Dales Harvest will be held this weekend at Hawes (Sept 20 and 21).

Showcasing the best local food, drink and culture in the Upper Dales and the work of artists and craftspeople, there will be a feast of entertainment including a strolling New Orleans band, family cabaret, face painting and a Traditional funfair. The Friends of the Dales Countryside Museum will demonstrate Victorian kitchen crafts in Victorian costume and will also host an exhibition of artists ‘A Brush with the Media’. Hawes is also home to the Wensleydale Creamery and its famous cheese, where there will be a classic coach rally plus hog roast, hot doughnuts and various beverages.

The Dales Harvest will be centred on the Market House and Market Place in Hawes, on both days, and will culminate with a combined Harvest Festival Service in Hawes Auction Mart, with supper to follow, proceeds in aid of ‘Vet Africa’.

The event will open each day to the public from 10.30am–5pm; no entrance fee.
