Fine produce from across Lancashire and beyond was on offer to Heysham 1’s staff as a ‘thank-you’ for a successful maintenance shutdown. And one of the stars of the event was Cartmel’s Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Lancashire Tea, Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding, Dew-Lay cheese, Shirley’s country catering, and Peter Ascroft vegetables were on site to offer staff a taste of Lancashire but also a chance to buy goods.

Each member of the Heysham 1 team was also given a goodie bag, which included rock, tea, cheese, sticky toffee pudding and the obligatory black pudding, by event organisers Claire Hallam and Angela Sykes.

Gwen Parry Jones, Heysham 1 station director, said: “It’s been a tough time here over the past months, so we thought saying ‘thank-you’ to the tremendous team we have here on site was right.

“And having a Lancashire Day was something a little different, but it has gone really, really well.”
