TRAIN company Northern Rail has vowed to try to lay on more services to help cope with the massive influx of walkers that descend on Grange-over-Sands each fortnight to take part in the cross bay walks.
Grange Town Council heard that many of the walkers who take part in the charity walks have experienced difficulties in catching trains back to Arnside after reaching the end point of the stroll at Kents Bank.
Coun Tony Coles this week received a letter from the train operator saying the company would try to improve services on walk days providing it was given at least four weeks prior notice.
