Event - United supporters celebrate 40th year
THE Westmorland branch of the Manchester United Supporters Club is hoping to contact ex-members who might want to attend the club's 40th anniversary dinner dance in May.
The evening will take place at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal on Friday, May 2.
A prominent speaker from the Old Trafford club is expected, though the details have yet to be confirmed.
Master of ceremonies for the night will be David Allison, the ex-Premier League referee and Ken Ramsden, club secretary at United, has promised to attend.
Singer Andy Whyment (Kirk of Coronation Street) will provide some of the entertainment, and some excellent items to be auctioned include use of an executive box to watch a United first-team game.Any former members of the club interested in the event should contact Steve Buswell (07718344606 or 01539 727516) or Robin Baines 01539 725780 or Dennis Alderson 07973965373.
