A WALKER has been found dead on a Lakeland fell.
Police were alerted to the incident when the walker, a man from Cumbria, was reported overdue at around 6.50pm on Tuesday.
A search operation was launched and the body of a man was found at Red Screes near the Kirkstone Pass at Ambleside by the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team at around 11.15pm.
The identity of the man will not be released until South Cumbria coroner Ian Smith has opened an inquest into his death.
