THERE was no Turkish delight for a South Lakeland couple after their dream holiday turned into a nightmare in the wake of the Glasgow airport terror alert.

Christyn Judge and her partner, David Hall, claim they were "abandoned" along with hundreds of other holidaymakers when their flight home from Turkey was delayed because of last weekend's car bomb attempt.

The couple, from Hawkshead, had thoroughly enjoyed their romantic break at the resort of Icmeler, booked with holiday company Goldtrail. But Miss Judge, 37, said the experience was overshadowed by the way holidaymakers were treated after they boarded coaches to take them to Dalaman airport.

Rebecca Copeland, of Goldtrail Holidays, said: "The delay was handled with normal procedure and all passengers were repatriated to the UK."

Dear Sir, I cannot believe the comments made in this article. Dream holiday turned into a nightmare... What utter Tosh... Is this person so selfish or stupid that she cannot see that a little discomfort on her part and that of her partner was nothing compared to the utter devastation that could have been caused if the terrorist car bomb attempt had been successful. Surely for someone who works in the public sector namely the Police Force she should be aware of the security measures that would have needed to be put into place once this atrocity was under control. The fact they had to be delayed in the country they chose to visit for pleasure was far less a nightmare than the poor people who were in Glasgow airport when this attack took place.. Maybe this person and her partner should think more carefully about their priorities.

My partner and i were both on the same flight and met the couple in question. They were both lovely folk. I think they were complaining about how goldtrail holidays delt with the situation, by leaving us at the airport for 8 hours or more without any update on our flight.Dont be so quick to preach.
